Perforamance Insatallation with Louisa Aisin - Work In Progress


Work In Progress

Louisa Aisin has been in the process of shaping this work for 2 years following an unfortunate arrest. It is a work which is pushed by an undercurrent so strong, that there is no other direction than to be birthed! Like a myth wanting to be discovered. In the detention cell, naked - stripped from all of my rights - A passage from Savage Rose came to mind “and you know that where you are - that’s the human soul.” 


The Choreographic score is inspired by her search for imageries of metamorphoses and the process of individuation in Jungian Psychology. Anima reclaiming agency by re - configuring. Ending echoes of a journey while navigating only to arrive. Bodies instrumentalised by tactility - Sensing gestures of mercy, foil and water, clay and music. juxtaposing the Innocence/Guilt complex through ritual sounding and movement, cracking latent tensions of anxiety. Synthetizing gestures of flow through sculptural motion in search for a eco vessel. Sounding* Vocal exploration: What is the affect of excessive control ? Dialectics and inner compulsion arise. { Transgressive Passion. Plasma, Expressing E-motions. 


Yaa and LuN/A have worked together before in PEEP(show), at Den Frie Udstillingsbygning. Their collaboration explore the intersection of Choreography, Sound, Visual art & Installation. 


This time bringing the investigation of upheaval and eroticism into stages of choreographic states, implementing a more fixed dramaturgy. The performance aim to evoke sensations of autonomy; explored through theatrical terms. The artistic research involves kinesthetic approaches informing the choreographic dramaturgy. The approach is PLAYFULNESS, *actively annihilating* structures that deny a complex matrix of sensitivity. Gestures of freedom as a solvent to constrictive norms.Layers of membrane touched by variables, encountering autonomy and a rewarding, re-weaving of thrill, care and daring. Friction becomes an arc when the border between performer and musician becomes intermingled, seeming that vibrations reveal itself to be nothing but variations of impulse in time and space drawn to cathartic chaos, purging, the breath & the O. The sounding storm within stillness, revealing mercy.In a world obsessed with separative, abusive and oppressive structures - healing is resistance, a gesture restored. 

Installation:  Analogue projections from Plexi glas containers with water. Moving water projecting on the vessel ( Pavilion ) and Water ball. This is a sort of Alchemical bath and Cell. The 4 Plexi Containers are placed around a podium, where a body, victim of plastic and entrapment is situated in the center of it. Head hanging downwards from the podiums edge, as people enter. In the space there is also a water ball. The light goes from industry to black as soon as people are placed. Then dimmed light and UV focused on the tableau in the center. In the bottom of Plexiglas - there is foil that will be scratched away so that more light appear. contact microphones and water for the analyst L/uNA to work with. 


Stage 1: Awareness burning like a blue flame - a wild fragrance of immediacy. Asking with no words. Searching for Temperance. Discovering proximity - Reflecting Back / having two mirrors.exploring audience interaction - will they reach? 


Stage 2 : The Inhale / Breathe the pressure Vocal exploration 

  • Unconscious shadows becoming apparent / The analyst mirrors back
  • Shaping clay with hands and bodies
  • interacting sound, body with autonomous 


Stage 3 : What emerges ? 

  • exploring Repetition; 
  • Redefining, refining, recapitulating, initiating an autonomous pattern. 
  • evoking undivided devotion . Then Finding stillness  within movement. Sculptural and improvised exploration.
  • tTo bear something that is rising from Below. Innate primordial vulnerability and vitality. Moving into the new cell naked ( Water ball ) - where to?  


The Longterm Vision and hope is to create an interdisciplinary Choreographic Performance including story telling with musical features. The duration of it would be around 1,5 hour. The idea is that it will explore strategies of immersiveness and interactivity, of the venue / place - and the audience. Fx transforming a  lounge in a theatre into a lounge facility of a laboratory. Or Site - Specific; an idea is Half - Machine tank …. Etc … Exhibiting our mythical research Relating to our earth parallel to human experience - how Water and Woman is one. 

Stefani Wisting aka LuN/A is a noize musician, sound artist and spiritual activist through vocal sounding and healing sound design. She draws on her training in musicology, bodywork and sound engineering to explore the intersection between deliberate and impulsive sounds of song, pain and pleasure in immersive sound installations and live performance. Stefani researches tools and modalities with which sound is a vehical for transformation. - “99.999999 % of space is empty. We are vibration. The human body is mostly water, most of our earth is covered in water and the air is moist with water. All this water connects each and every one of us and is a string along which sound information travels.”
